The matchmaking team at Valenti Matchmaking firmly believes that there is someone for everyone. Love and Autism are not mutually exclusive. A loving relationship can blossom for anyone when they meet the right person who deeply understands them. We came across this heartwarming video about two people who have Asperger’s who found love. People with Asperger’s syndrome have a high functioning form of Autism that is commonly characterized by average or above levels of intelligence accompanied with difficulties in socializing and communicating with others. There is a range in how severe these challenges can affect these individuals, but this does not necessarily rule out a romantic relationship for them. A main foundation in any relationship is feeling understood by one’s partner. This is especially important for people on the Autistic spectrum, as they can have difficulty relating or communicating to people who are not autistic. As seen in this video, having a common ground in how they communicate and view the world helped this couple form a warm, romantic relationship.
While people on the Autistic spectrum may need more guidance and assistance in their relationships, a successful relationship can be a reality.
